Bellingham, WA – April 12, 2025 – WECU is proud to continue its support of April Brews Day as the event’s Title Sponsor, reinforcing its commitment to the community with a $13,000 contribution to Max Higbee Center.
As Bellingham’s largest and most anticipated beer festival, April Brews Day attracts over 4,000 attendees and serves as the culminating event of Bellingham Beer Week. The festival showcases 50 Pacific Northwest craft breweries and cideries, along with live music, local food vendors, and more—all while raising essential funds for Max Higbee Center.
WECU’s involvement goes beyond its sponsorship, with more than thirty WECU employees volunteering at event check-in. Additionally, WECU members will enjoy an exclusive perk—an extra drink ticket—when they show their WECU debit or credit card or mobile app at the WECU tent near the festival’s entrance. Attendees can also join in some fun and friendly competition at the WECU-themed water pong area.

Founded in 2001, April Brews Day was born from a grassroots effort to support Max Higbee Center, which is dedicated to providing recreation opportunities for people with developmental disabilities. Initially partnering with Boundary Bay Brewery, the event has grown into a beloved local tradition that blends craft beer culture with community giving.
WECU has been the event’s main sponsor since 2019, standing by the organization even during the challenging COVID years, demonstrating a long-standing dedication to Max Higbee Center.
